Responsible disposal and sensible use of resources aren't a marketing add-on at Certa, they're built into how we run day to day. From what happens to your old equipment once it's replaced, to how we manage our own vehicles and premises, this is something we practise, not just something we say.
WEEE-certified disposal and refurbishment
When printers and MFPs reach the end of their working life, they're disposed of through WEEE-certified routes rather than landfill. Where a machine can be refurbished and put back into use instead of scrapped, that's the option we take, so reuse comes before recycling, and recycling comes before disposal.
RYPC cartridge recycling
Used toner and ink cartridges are collected and recycled through our RYPC cartridge recycling programme, keeping spent consumables out of general waste.
Circular Planet toner take-back scheme
We also participate in the Circular Planet toner take-back scheme, which collects used toner cartridges for recycling rather than disposal. It's another route we use to make sure consumables get dealt with properly once a customer is finished with them.
Operational sustainability
The same approach applies to how we run our own business. Our premises use LED lighting, and our engineers use hybrid vehicles for site visits, so the impact of keeping your fleet running is kept down at our end too.
This kind of accountability, being able to show what actually happens to old equipment and consumables rather than just saying the right things, is increasingly something education and public sector customers ask for directly.
