Certa Green Plan: printer and photocopier rental
The Certa Green Plan is our own rental agreement, designed to support new start businesses and charitable organisations. You rent a refurbished printer or photocopier that we have always serviced ourselves, for one fixed monthly payment that covers the machine, a monthly print allowance, toner, servicing and support. Plans start from £30 plus VAT a month, with a minimum term of 12 months. Criteria apply, so please ask whether your organisation qualifies.
Why did we create the Green Plan?
The Green Plan is unique to Certa. It was developed around a simple principle: not every used photocopier or printer has reached the end of its useful life just because a business no longer needs it.
Rather than sending perfectly serviceable equipment for disposal, we carefully select suitable machines, ones we have always serviced ourselves and whose history we know, so they can be repurposed and returned to productive use. You get reliable, professionally supported equipment without the financial commitment that normally comes with buying or leasing new devices.
How does the monthly payment work?
The Green Plan works like a subscription, with one fixed monthly payment split between two parts:
- Equipment rental: part of the monthly payment covers the rental of the device.
- Inclusive managed print services: the rest provides an agreed monthly print allowance, including toner, servicing, maintenance and technical support.
That gives you a straightforward, predictable monthly cost for your printing.
How much does the Green Plan cost?

A4 multifunctional printer
From £30 plus VAT a month

Both are illustrative examples for organisations that meet the Green Plan criteria, and every package is tailored to your requirements. Additional print volumes, delivery and installation can be discussed as part of your quotation.
What if my printing changes during the agreement?
Our standard Green Plan Agreement has a minimum term of just 12 months, which gives you considerably more flexibility than many traditional equipment finance arrangements.
We know businesses change. If your print volumes or circumstances change during that period, the agreement can be reviewed and adjusted, subject to agreement.
Who can have a Green Plan?
The Green Plan is designed to support new start businesses and charitable organisations, so there are criteria to meet before we can offer one.
If your business does not qualify, a finance lease or one of our service and support contracts may suit you instead. Ask us and we will tell you plainly which options are open to you.
How is the Green Plan different from a lease?
A finance lease is arranged with a finance provider such as BNP Paribas or Investec, usually for new equipment, on a minimum or fixed term. The Green Plan is Certa's own rental agreement for refurbished equipment, with the print allowance, toner and servicing built into the monthly payment. Either way, Certa looks after the machine for the whole of your agreement.
